Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

When fall arrives and the weather turns cooler, our bodies naturally crave more comfort foods. We eagerly anticipate pumpkin lattes and apple pies all year long but the moment summer ends and October hits is when pumpkin spice everything is just simply unavoidable.

To support your daily Essentials Shake habit, I've crafted this fall-inspired recipe just for you! The star ingredient is pumpkin (you can use canned or make your own pumpkin puree and save some for smoothies). The blend of spices recreates the beloved flavor profile of a pumpkin pie.

I'm a huge fan of incorporating veggies into smoothies, especially zucchini and cauliflower. They create a creamy texture, add bulk, and help you stay full longer without the added sweetness from fruits. When I do add fruit, it's purely for a slightly sweet flavor. I'm always mindful of keeping the smoothies low in sugar, especially when enjoying them in the morning.

For a balanced breakfast, aim for high protein, a bit of fat, and minimal sugar (from fruits). In this recipe, I used just half a banana, and sometimes I use only a quarter of a small banana. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
