If you are looking for an easy recipe for a delicious, creamy, comforting banana oatmeal breakfast that is high in protein, then you have come to the right place. This recipe is perfect for lazy weekend breakfasts, or a quick and convenient option to get you out the door in a hurry. You could even make it as a snack or dessert if you want to.  After all, anytime is a good time for breakfast, right?

One of the biggest challenges of a plant-based diet is getting enough protein, especially for active individuals and athletes — like us!  It's not that you can't get enough protein from plants, it's just difficult to do so without also increasing your carb intake significantly.  

The secret to upgrading your oatmeal is stirring in a half a scoop of our Essentials shake.  We chose chocolate for this recipe but you can easily switch it up and mix in vanilla instead — do whatever works best for your preference.

Using the Essentials in oatmeal provides a nice change up from our regular morning smoothie and provides longer-lasting satiety that often lasts for hours!  It's one of our top go-to breakfast choices for when we have an especially busy day ahead.
