Look for pineapples that are bright in color, firm to the touch, and have a sweet aroma. A ripe pineapple will have a sweet and juicy flavor, which is important for a tasty smoothie.
Coconut milk adds richness and creaminess to your smoothie, but make sure to choose unsweetened varieties to avoid adding unnecessary sugar. Also, look for coconut milk that is free from any artificial additives or preservatives.
Bananas are optional but they can help thicken and add creaminess to the smoothie. Opt for a frozen banana to really help thicken the smoothie and make sure it is ripe. A ripe banana will provide natural sweetness and creaminess to your smoothie, so make sure to use one that has brown spots on the skin.
