Our Path to Zero

Refusing to use animal protein or any animal-based ingredients in our products was the first step toward our sustainability initiatives.

Only 14% of plastic packaging used globally is recycled and 40% ends its life in landfills.
2016

Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic Tubs

When we first started we sold our products in post-consumer recycled tubs because they have a significantly reduced carbon footprint in comparison to virgin plastic material — the best option available at the time. The problem is that they can only be recycled 2-4 times.

LyfeFuel 1.0

Sustainabiliy Challenge:

Bags must be sent to a specialty recycling center where the metallic layer can be separated from the plastic.
2018

Transition to Flexible Pouches + Carbon Offsetting

As our business began to grow we were determined to find new ways to reduce the amount of plastic used in our packaging and cut down on the carbon emissions required to ship our products.

2019

Launch of the Explorer Bottle and Recyclable Pouches

In a move to support other businesses with simliar values as us, we sought out suppliers with sustainability at the heart of their businesss. As a result, we were able to further reduce our carbon footprint and get one step closer to our sustainable packaging goals. We also launched the Explorer Bottles as a way to empower our customers to reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles.

Home compostable, paper, and infinitlely recyclable bio-based materials are a massive improvement, but not perfect.

Green Graphic Design + Sustainable Material Experts

Determined to usher in a new phase for LyfeFuel, we employed the services of a Canadian design studio that helped us reimagine the branding and materials across the entire LyfeFuel product line. Informed by years of research, they helped us create a utting-edge packaging and design solution that has elevated the brand in a way that showcases our commitment to eco-friendly solutions and exemplifies the values we live by.
